The Residential School Program
As a Department of Education-approved special education school receiving the majority of our referrals from public entities, our tuition is determined annually by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The tuition rate is based on a Department of Education-approved set of services and standards provided by our program. Tuition is usually paid for by the school or agency referring the student here. At times, if the placement is not supported by these entities, parents may choose to pay the cost themselves at the same rate set by the state. By law, we are not permitted to charge anyone a lower rate than paid by the state.
The Day School Program
Due to its small size, we have not sought to have the day school program officially approved as a separate program by the Department of Education. However, it has the same academic and therapeutic services as the residential program, during the hours the student is here. There is an authorization process in place for Castle's day school and its rate for school systems, given that they cannot be obtained at any other approved day school program. Because ours is unique in the combination of the services we offer, this is not usually a barrier to placement.
Tuition is usually paid for by the school system referring the student. If it is not supported by a school system, parents may choose to pay the cost themselves at the set rate.
For more information about our tuition rates, both day and residential, please contact our Clinical Coordinator.
