Castle has an excellent school nurse on staff to oversee the health care needs of our students, including their prescribed medication. Present through the greater part of the school day, she works closely with staff and medical providers around health issues and is on call to staff for phone consultation if needed. In particular, she maintains and monitors the dispensation of medications and provides ongoing training to the staff to assure safe procedures and monitoring.
The services of a part-time psychiatrist at Castle are provided for assessing and managing the psychotropic medication needs of all Castle students. She works in close coordination with the clinical staff and has available times to consult with parents about their concerns as well.
